Was looking through stuff on PostSecret, and it got me thinking about the secrets that we all keep, big and small. Made me feel like picking up a postcard and sending off several lines worth of my deepest secrets as well. Well for lack of stamps and motivation to walk down to the post office, thought I would just do my own postsecret thing right here, right now.

take a look at the site and you'll realise that the no1 topic is how people are insecure about themselves. not beautiful enough, not capable enough etc. "i'm too fat to fit into size 0"..stuff like that. everyone feels that way, just in varying degrees. and why are they insecure? they want approval mainly from others. don't deny it. those who can remove themselves from the notion of being judged by others are a lucky bunch, but no one is like that every time, all the time. There are many times when we realise we don't need to care about what others think but there are equal amounts of time when we feel the reverse.

why then do people want the approval of others? they want to be appreciated, adored, loved. Because we are not solitary creatures. note that i said not solitary instead of social. we are not solitary for biological reasons requiring us to procreate and make more humans to trample all the nice and rapidly diminishing greenery on earth. Thus you can then say that we are born insecure. depressing eh?

of course its good that we don't think about this all the time, we'd all be a really sad bunch otherwise.

on a happier note, its February already. sweet.

oh yeah and I promised a secret at the beginning right? here it is:

if i told yall it wouldn't be a secret anymore now would it? haha
